I have also completed a training session with Therapeutic Approach to qualify as one of the teachers for the teacher certification program. I have had several workshops with the Desikachar family, - as in Krishnamacharya’s son. Krishnamacharya was the teacher of many, many students from India and abroad including B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois and Indira Devi. I spent time at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandarim http://kym.org/Beta/ in Chennai, India during the winters of 2005, 2006 and 2007.

Anyone can do Yoga.
If you can breathe,
you can practice Yoga.

As well, over the last 20 years I have studied with teachers who studied with B.K.S. Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois (ashtanga), as well as teachers from Kripalu and Sivananda. Most of my formal training has been from teachers who have studied with B.K.S. Iyengar or other certified "Iyengar" teachers so if you had to label my style of teaching, for many years it would likely be very similar to the Iyengar style of Yoga. All of my studies have been aspects of Hatha Yoga which comes from Raja Yoga, and one thing I have learned - whether it is called Iyengar, Ashtanga, Kripalu, Kundalini.... whatever... the basic philosophy and principals are the same. All are based on the disciplines of the "Yamas" (ethical disciplines towards self and others). Recently I have been studying Yoga as it is part of the natural health tradition of Ayurveda. I have stayed at the Kavailyadhama Yoga and Ayurveda Research center http://kdham.com/ during the past 3 winters in Pune, India. I have completed level 1 of study with Doctor Timothy McCall http://www.drmccall.com/. Classes and workshops will take us deeper into the Self, practicing techniques to deeply relax the nervous system allowing ones being to find stillness, space, equanimity and healing where necessary then we strengthen (physically, mentally, emotionally) from our very deepest core.
